Route

To reach Alimpung Island from Banjarmasin, visitors must travel approximately 120 kilometers, which takes around 3.5 hours by car. The journey includes passing through the scenic rural areas of Banjar Regency, leading to Pelabuhan Tiwingan, where the trip to Alimpung Island begins. From the Tiwingan Port, the island is just a 5-minute boat ride away. However, it’s essential to contact the local tourism management beforehand, as visits to the island are by appointment only. Upon arrival at the port, visitors are greeted with stunning hill views and are transported to the island via speed boat at a cost of approximately Rp50,000 per person.


Entrance Fee

The entrance fee to Alimpung Island varies depending on the season. On regular days, the ticket costs Rp7,000 per person, while on weekends or national holidays, it increases to Rp12,000 per person. This fee does not include parking or boat rental costs. Additionally, visitors who plan to stay overnight or enjoy the water sports activities will incur additional fees. For instance, boat rental to reach the island is about Rp300,000 if not staying overnight and Rp350,000 if staying overnight.


Operating Hours 

Alimpung Island is accessible daily and operates 24 hours. However, the best time to visit is during the day, allowing visitors to fully experience the natural beauty and engage in various activities offered on the island.

Alimpung Island, located within the Riam Kanan Reservoir, offers a unique experience unlike any other tourist destination. Surrounded by lush forests and floating houses, the island provides a serene and private escape. The highlight is watching the sunset between the Matang Keladan Hills, a breathtaking sight that makes the visit truly memorable.


For those wishing to stay overnight, the island offers well-equipped rooms ranging from Rp400,000 to Rp600,000 per night, depending on the facilities. An alternative for budget travelers is camping, with a fee of Rp20,000 per tent. Visitors can also enjoy fresh fish dishes from the local fish farms, known for their tilapia and catfish.

In the morning, the island greets visitors with mesmerizing natural scenery, as the Matang Kaladan hills remain shrouded in clouds. For a more thrilling experience, visitors can rent a speed boat for around Rp500,000 to explore nearby areas, such as Bukit Batu in Sungai Luar Village.


Water Sports and Activities

Alimpung Island also features exciting water sports facilities, offering a series of obstacles that are both challenging and fun. This water sport area is often compared to a Ninja Warrior-style course, making it a popular choice for adventurous visitors. 

The cost for participating in water sports is approximately Rp40,000 for adults and Rp20,000 for children under 10 years old, with each session lasting an hour. The island’s comprehensive facilities and stunning natural surroundings make it an ideal destination for those seeking both relaxation and adventure in South Kalimantan.
