Description

The 2024 Loksado Bamboo Rafting Festival, one of the 110 Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN), is a unique tourism event in Kalimantan. Organized by the Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency Government, it will be held from June 18 to 22, 2024, starting at Amangkurat Field in Kandangan and concluding in Loksado.

The highlight of the festival is bamboo rafting, also known as *"balanting piring", where visitors can ride bamboo rafts along the Amandit River, navigating thrilling rapids. With 100 bamboo rafts available, each accommodating up to three people and one experienced guide, participants can enjoy the natural beauty of Loksado while engaging in an exciting adventure. The rafting journey begins at All Outbound Loksado and ends at Ni'ih Bamboo Rafting Dock, offering a unique way to explore the river.

Beyond rafting, visitors can indulge in Dayak cuisine at the Mahumbal Festival, where they’ll witness the cooking of "nasi humbal"—rice and seasoned fish prepared in bamboo. This local delicacy is served on leaves found in the Meratus Forest, adding a touch of nature to the experience.

The festival also showcases local Dayak art and cultural performances, presented by local communities from Hulu Sungai Selatan. These performances not only entertain but also promote the rich cultural heritage of Loksado to a wider audience.

In addition to the cultural attractions, the event includes a bazaar featuring local UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) and creative economy products. Visitors can find a variety of unique items, from local cuisine to souvenirs, supporting both the tourism and local economy.

The Loksado Bamboo Rafting Festival is a celebration of nature, culture, and creativity, making it a must-visit event for those looking to explore the heart of South Kalimantan.
